"Dear Col. H., Thank you very much for the box of books you donated to share with the troops here in Balad, Iraq! We have received your shipment and are distributing the books to servicemen and women through our canteen here at the Joint Base Balad Red Cross Office, and with the assistance of some of our volunteer servicemembers, including them in care packages to some of our troops in outlying areas and on missions. The books you donated will go a long way toward brightening the days of many of those serving their country far from home. Thank you again!"

Our Vision
It is our vision that all service members and their families have current and high-quality reading material throughout their time overseas.
For 2010, we have set the following annual goals:
- Fundraise $5,000 for book acquisition and postage funds
- Exceed 250,000 books shipped in a single year
We will continue to focus our book acquisitions on military history and other non-fiction titles. We would also like to have full sets of books from each service's recommended reading lists.
